Robbinsdale Rocks!

February

Dear Robbinsdale Families,

We’re already turning the calendar to March! 🌷

Thank you to all of our families who joined us for parent-teacher conferences. The time spent together, talking about progress and next steps, truly makes a difference for students. We value the opportunity to work side by side in support of your child’s growth.

We’re looking forward to continuing that partnership at our upcoming Family Engagement Event next week — we hope to see you there! 💙

Parent & Caregiver Survey – Closes Tonight!
Your voice matters, and we truly value your feedback. The survey closes this evening, and we would love to hear from you. Your input helps us reflect, grow, and continue improving for our students and families.

Be sure to mark your calendar! Join us for our Health & Fitness Family Fun Night on March 5. It will be an evening filled with movement, games, wellness activities, and a light dinner. We are excited to celebrate healthy habits and meaningful family time together. We hope to see you there!

Spring Break Reminder
Spring Break begins March 30. Students will return to school on Tuesday, April 7. We hope you enjoy a safe and restful break!

State Testing – April 20–25
State assessments will take place April 20–25. Please help your child feel confident and ready by ensuring they get a good night’s sleep and arrive at school on time each day. Every minute of learning counts, and we appreciate your support during this important week.

Playground Supervision Reminder
Our playground opens at 7:45 AM each morning. We do not have supervision available prior to that time, so please ensure students arrive no earlier than 7:45 for their safety.

Thank you for being such an important part of our Robbinsdale community. We are grateful for your partnership and the care you show for our school each day.

With appreciation,
Mrs. Keeney

Around Robbinsdale

Semester 1 Reflections

At Robbinsdale, we know that learning is a journey — and every student is on their own track. We celebrated students who set academic goals and worked hard toward them.

Some students crossed the finish line and met their goals. Others are still racing toward theirs. Both deserve recognition.

Goal-setting takes courage. Reflection takes honesty. Growth takes effort. Whether students reached their goal this round or are preparing for their next lap, they are learning how to monitor their progress, use feedback, and keep moving forward.

At Robbinsdale, we celebrate achievement and perseverance — because every lap counts, and every student is still in the race. 🏎️💨

South Dakota Excellence in School Nursing

We are incredibly proud to share that Alyssa Downey, our Robbinsdale School Nurse, has been named the South Dakota School Nurse of Excellence Award recipient!

Alyssa’s impact reaches far beyond the health office. She is a compassionate advocate for students, a trusted partner for families, and a steady, solutions-focused leader for our staff. Whether navigating complex medical situations, coordinating community resources, or supporting students’ daily health needs, Alyssa approaches every challenge with professionalism, thoroughness, and heart.

She understands that student health and student learning are deeply connected. Because of her dedication, barriers are removed, voices are heard, and students are better able to access their education with confidence.

We are so grateful for the care, expertise, and leadership Alyssa brings to our school each day. Please join us in congratulating her on this well-deserved recognition! 💙

Years of Service

We recently had the opportunity to recognize two outstanding staff members for their Years of Service to our district.

Julie Babbe was honored for 10 years of service, and Abby Siebdrath was recognized for 5 years of service. Each received a certificate and commemorative pin in appreciation of their dedication to our students and school community.

Milestones like these represent more than time — they reflect lasting relationships, steady commitment, and the daily impact they have on student learning and growth. We are grateful for the care, professionalism, and consistency Julie and Abby bring to Robbinsdale each day.

Please join us in congratulating them on this well-deserved recognition.

Building Community.  Reaching Goals.  Celebrating Success

💖 February Heart Health Community Day 💖

Our February Community Day was filled with healthy choices, creativity, and positive self-talk! Students built their own heart-healthy fruit kabobs using bananas, grapes, and strawberries. They carefully cut, assembled, and enjoyed their snack—taking their time and practicing independence along the way.

Students also created beautiful tear-art hearts on black construction paper and added personal affirmations such as “I can do hard things” and “I can keep going even if I don’t get it the first time.” These heartfelt creations will be displayed throughout the building during conferences as a celebration of resilience, confidence, and growth.

It was a wonderful day focused on caring for both our bodies and our hearts! ❤️
