Congratulations to our students with perfect attendance in September! A few lucky names were drawn from the group, and those students enjoyed a special reward from Boss’ Pizza & Chicken. 🍕🐔

Once again, East PTA was unable to hold an official meeting this month due to lack of member attendance. To qualify as an official meeting, we need at least five members in attendance. We had three. Thankfully, the only matter of importance that needed to be discussed was conference meals, which had already been agreed to last year. After asking some staff members, we decided upon Qdoba. 

While we fully understand that everyone is busy with jobs and families, it is disappointing that a school of our size is not able to reach the minimum requirements needed to run our PTA. Our next meeting is Thursday, November 13th at 6:00 p.m. If we are again unable to hold an official meeting due to lack of attendance, some very difficult questions will arise concerning what level of support we can offer East this year. Our meetings are once a month and usually take between 30 minutes to an hour. Unlike elementary school PTA, there is not a huge amount of time commitment past those meetings as we do not hold many events during the year. We ask that all parents and families of East take some time to think about supporting PTA by becoming a member and attending the meetings. If things do not change, we will have to disband the PTA.

📍 Raptor Den takes place in room 203 after school until 4:00 p.m.

If you would like your child to sign up for Raptor Den, please reach out to their EI teacher. You can contact them by email using the general format: firstname.lastname@k12.sd.us.

Game nights will be Thursdays, and gametime will be 3:07-5:00 with pickup/cleanup starting at 4:50. Room 231.

Student Council meets every other Monday in Room 204. Next meeting is Tuesday, Oct. 27

Requirements to participate in sports:

• A current physical on file

• Activities concussion form completed (found under Online Forms in Skyward Family Access)

• $25 registration fee paid
