Winter Coat & Essentials Drive

As temperatures continue to drop, access to winter essentials becomes increasingly important for many in our school community. We are excited to support a Winter Coat & Essentials Drive to help collect and distribute much-needed items to students, families, and community members who may be facing hardship during the winter months.

We are collecting:

- Coats

- Gloves and mittens

- Hats

- Blankets

If you are able, please consider donating new or gently used items. Even one item can make a big difference.

Conferences

Parent-teacher conferences will be held on Thursday, February 19 from 4:00-7:00. Conferences will be scheduled with parents/guardians for this date. Teachers and staff will be contacting families to schedule conferences to provide additional support for students who are struggling, as well as to recognize and celebrate progress and achievements.

If you are not contacted but would like to schedule a conference, please use this LINK. Parent-teacher conferences are a great opportunity to connect, ask questions, and celebrate your child’s progress.

We look forward to partnering with you to support your child’s learning and growth!

Cell Phone Expectations

We are seeing an uptick in cellphone use throughout the building. To protect the learning environment at East Middle School, cellphones are required to remain in student lockers, as outlined in the Middle School Handbook (page 44).

If families need to get a message to their student during the school day, they should contact the office before 1:00 PM, and we will ensure the message is delivered. Please note that we do not have a student phone available for students to call home during the school day, except before and after school.

Thank you for your assistance on this matter.
